In an effort to combat plastic, single-use PPE, these biodegradeable rice paper masks (according to the designer) offer as much protection as other homemade masks.
Further, when dropped in soil or a landfill, the masks are designed to bloom with a bouquet of Dutch wildflowers from seeds embedded in the mask itself. Based in the Netherlands, the masks are only available in Europe, though the designer hopes to expand production in order to help combat the global microplastics crisis.
