KB Architects has designed a COVID testing lab in London's Halo Building (part of Med City). The lab can process  10,000 of tests each day and is outfitted with a number of sanitation features. The lab benches are made from Trespa, an antimicrobial laminate, the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) diagnostic analysers are kept in secured rooms that prevent cross-contamination, and dumbwaiters have been installed to carry tests more efficiently to the correct level in the building for testing. The lab is also designed to be modular, and so can be converted into offices in the future.
