Standing in place of those who could not take part in the inauguration of President Joseph R. Biden, The Presidential Inaugural Committee installed approximately 191,500 U.S. flags on the National Mall in Washington D.C. The committee said the flags represent, "our commitment to an inclusive and safe event that everyone can enjoy from their home," making them as much of a tribute as an installation to ensure social distancing.
