253 Ng Tze-chuen's disinfectant scarecrow robot

Date: June 2020

The concept is designed by a dentist-cum-inventor, Dr Ng Tze-chuen. He proposes that the robot be guided into a ward on a magnetic track. The UV light kills the virus [on surfaces] and a filter draws air into the robot and exterminates [airborne] virus [particles]. Depending on the [UV] bulb, the ward can be 90 per cent disinfected in 8 to 25 minutes.’ Dr Ng Tze-chuen has also designed a ‘disinfection phone box’ which its estimated would take 30 seconds for head-to-toe disinfection.
