234 Martin Parr’s Deserted Glastonbury

Date: June 26
Photographed by: Martin Parr

Documentary photojournalist Martin Parr (and Glastonbury festival virgin) ‘thought it would be interesting to tour the site just before the festival would have opened to see how it looks.’ As he trasped through deserted fields, Parr took photos of a herd of Friesian cows next to the skeleton of the Pyramid Stage and an assortment of attractions ‘waiting to be brought back to life in a year’s time.’
