216 House of Commons Queuing System

Date: June 2020

When Jacob Reese Mogg insisted (as leader of the House of Commons) that MP must vote in person for parliamentary bills, organisers set up a queuing system. This is in spite of the efficient use of online voting during the peak of the pandemic which prevented vulnerable MPs from contracting the virus. In the end, when MPs were forced to return to queuing physically, the line stretched 1.2km outside of the building.
